📚 도산서원의 탄생 배경 The Birth of Dosan Seowon
도산서원은 퇴계 이황 선생이 학문 연구와 제자 양성을 위해 직접 지은 도산서당에서 시작됐어요. 이황 선생은 1561년에 이곳으로 들어와 자연 속에서 조용히 학문에 몰두하며 제자들을 가르쳤답니다.
Dosan Seowon began as Dosan Seodang, which was built by Yi Hwang himself for academic research and training of disciples. Yi Hwang came here in 1561 and taught his disciples while quietly concentrating on his studies in nature.
선생이 돌아가신 후, 제자들과 유림들이 그 뜻을 기리기 위해 1574년에 서원을 세웠고, 이후 1575년에 선조 임금이 ‘도산서원’이라는 현판을 내려주면서 사액서원이 되었어요.
After the teacher passed away, his disciples and Confucian scholars built the Seowon in 1574 to commemorate his will, and later in 1575, King Seonjo gave a signboard reading ‘Dosan Seowon’, making it a royally-appointed Seowon.

도산서원은 주차장에서 한 10여분정도 걸어들어가야하고 여행코스는 사직단에서 시작해서 도산서당 - 광명실 - 전교당 - 상덕사 - 장판각 - 옥진각 등순으로 구경했지.
