이번에 보령 다녀왔는데, 너무 만족스러워서 너한테 꼭 이야기해주고 싶더라. 맛집도 맛집이고, 볼거리도 생각보다 훨씬 많았거든!
I visited Boryeong recently, and I was so satisfied that I really wanted to tell you about it. The restaurant was really good, and there was a lot more to see than I thought!

보령에 갔으면 무조건 가봐야 한다는 횟집이 있어서 찾아갔는데, 완전 인생 횟집이었어. 이름부터 재미있어서 호기심에 갔는데, 먹고 나니까 왜 현지인들이 추천하는지 바로 알겠더라. 찾는 손님이 많아 차를 주차하기에도 힘들정도였지.
I went to a raw fish restaurant that people said I had to visit when I went to Boryeong, and it was the best raw fish restaurant in my life. I went because the name was interesting, but after eating, I immediately understood why the locals recommended it. There were so many customers that it was hard to park the car.
가게에 들어서자마자 활어 수조가 딱 보이는데, 직접 잡아서 바로 손질해주셔서 회가 진짜 신선했어. 광어, 우럭, 도미 같은 기본 생선회는 물론이고, 제철 해산물도 있어서 뭘 먹어야 할지 한참 고민했을 정도야. 우리는 모둠회를 주문했는데, 큼직하게 썰린 회가 접시에 푸짐하게 나와서 보기만 해도 행복해지더라.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I could see the live fish tank, and they caught it and cleaned it right away, so the raw fish was really fresh. In addition to the basic raw fish like flounder, black rockfish, and sea bream, they also had seasonal seafood, so I had a hard time deciding what to eat. We ordered the assorted raw fish, and the large pieces of raw fish were generously served on a plate, which made me happy just looking at them.
회가 두툼하면서도 부드러워서 씹을 때 쫀득한 식감이 느껴지는데, 이걸 직접 만든 초장이나 고추냉이 간장에 찍어 먹으니까 입안에서 바다 향이 확 퍼져. 같이 나온 멍게, 해삼, 개불 같은 해산물들도 신선해서, 한 입 한 입이 감탄이었어.
The sashimi is thick and soft, so you can feel the chewy texture when you chew it, and when you dip it in homemade soy sauce or wasabi soy sauce, the ocean flavor spreads in your mouth. The seafood that came with it, such as sea squirts, sea cucumbers, and sea squirts, were also fresh, so every bite was amazing.
사이드 메뉴도 엄청 푸짐하게 나오는데, 매운탕은 회 뜨고 남은 뼈로 끓여줘서 국물 맛이 끝내줘. 얼큰하면서도 시원한 국물을 한 숟갈 뜨니까 속이 확 풀리더라. 나중에는 밥까지 말아서 싹싹 비웠어.
The side dishes are also very generous, and the spicy fish stew is made with the bones left over from the sashimi, so the broth tastes amazing. I took a spoonful of the refreshing and tangy broth and it really cleared my stomach. I even mixed it with rice and ate it all up.
게다가 사장님도 엄청 친절하셔서, 뭐가 맛있고 어떻게 먹으면 더 맛있는지 다 알려주시더라구. 덕분에 더 맛있게 즐길 수 있었던 것 같아. 가게 분위기도 편안하고 깔끔해서 오래 머물러도 전혀 부담 없었어.
In addition, the owner was very kind, so he told me everything that was delicious and how to eat it to make it even more delicious. Thanks to that, I think I was able to enjoy it even more. The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable and clean, so I didn't feel uncomfortable at all even if I stayed for a long time.
🌸 보령에서 가볼 만한 곳 Places to visit in Boryeong
보령은 맛집뿐만 아니라 자연경관도 정말 멋진 곳이 많더라구. 이번에 몇 군데 다녀왔는데, 하나하나 다 좋았어!
Boryeong is not only famous for its delicious restaurants, but also has many beautiful natural landscapes. I visited a few places this time, and they were all great!
1️⃣ 무궁화수목원 Mugunghwa Arboretum
무궁화를 테마로 한 수목원인데, 산책로가 정말 예쁘게 꾸며져 있어서 힐링하기 딱이야. 다양한 꽃들과 나무들이 있어서 사진 찍기에도 좋고, 조용히 걷다 보면 마음이 편안해지는 느낌이었어. 계절마다 다른 매력이 있을 것 같아서 또 가보고 싶더라구.
It's an arboretum themed around the Rose of Sharon, and the walking path is really beautifully decorated, making it perfect for healing. There are various flowers and trees, so it's great for taking pictures, and it felt so relaxing to walk quietly. I think it has different charms in each season, so I want to go again.
2️⃣ 삽시도 Sapsi Island
배 타고 들어가야 하는 섬인데, 섬 자체가 정말 그림처럼 아름다워. 깨끗한 해변에서 바다 구경하고, 산책하면서 여유로운 섬 분위기를 제대로 느꼈어. 등산로도 있어서 가볍게 오르면서 섬 전경을 감상할 수 있었는데, 정상에서 보는 바다가 진짜 예술이야.
It's an island that you have to take a boat to get to, but the island itself is really beautiful like a picture. I enjoyed the view of the ocean from the clean beach and took a walk, really feeling the leisurely atmosphere of the island. There's also a hiking trail, so I was able to enjoy the view of the island while climbing lightly, and the ocean from the top is truly a work of art.
3️⃣ 수영성 Suyeong Fortress
조선시대 때 왜구를 막기 위해 만들어진 성인데, 성벽 따라 걸으면서 보령의 역사를 느낄 수 있었어. 바다랑 성벽이 어우러진 풍경이 멋져서, 걸으면서 계속 감탄하게 되더라. 특히 노을 질 때 가면 하늘이 물드는 풍경이 장관이라서 강력 추천!
It was a fortress built during the Joseon Dynasty to block Japanese pirates, and I was able to feel the history of Boryeong while walking along the fortress wall. The scenery of the sea and the fortress wall in harmony was so beautiful that I kept admiring it as I walked. I especially recommend it when the sky turns red at sunset!

보령은 생각보다 더 매력적인 곳이어서, 하루 이틀로는 부족할 정도였어. 맛있는 횟집에서 배불리 먹고, 예쁜 곳들 돌면서 사진도 찍고, 바다 보면서 멍 때리는 시간까지 완벽했어. 다음에 기회 되면 우리 같이 가서 더 많은 곳 돌아다녀보자! 아마 진짜 잊지 못할 여행이 될 것 같아. 🚀
Boryeong was a more charming place than I thought, so one or two days was not enough. I ate my fill at a delicious raw fish restaurant, took pictures while walking around beautiful places, and just stared blankly at the ocean. It was perfect.
