보령여행친구야,
보령에 이런 곳이 있는 줄 나도 이번에 처음 알았어.
무궁화를 주제로 한 국내 최초의 전문 수목원, 바로 보령 무궁화수목원 이야!
너무 예쁘고, 공기 좋고, 심지어 입장료도 무료라서 진짜 감동했잖아.
Hey, my friend, I just found out that there is a place like this in Boryeong. It's the first specialized arboretum in Korea with the theme of Rose of Sharon, Boryeong Rose of Sharon Arboretum! It's so pretty, the air is clean, and the admission fee is even free, so I was really touched.
🚗 가는 방법 How to get there
▪️ 주소: 충남 보령시 성주면 성주산로 455-52
▪️ 차 타고 가면: 네비에 “보령 무궁화수목원”만 찍으면 쉽게 나와.
성주산자연휴양림 근처라서 주변 자연환경이 아주 좋아.
▪️ 대중교통은 조금 불편한 편이라 자차 추천!
(보령 시내에서 택시 타면 10~15분 정도 거리)
▪️ Address: 455-52 Seongjusan-ro, Seongju-myeon, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do
▪️ If you go by car: Just type "Boryeong Rose of Sharon Arboretum" into your navigation and it will come up easily. It's near Seongjusan Natural Recreation Forest, so the surrounding natural environment is really nice.
▪️ Public transportation is a bit inconvenient, so I recommend driving! (10-15 minutes by taxi from downtown Boryeong)

▪️ 주차: 무료 (주차장 넓고 한산해서 주차 스트레스 없음)
▪️ 운영시간: 오전 9시 ~ 오후 6시 (입장 마감은 5시)

🌺 주요 볼거리 Main attractions
1. 무궁화전시원
여긴 핵심이야.
홍단심계, 백단심계, 아사달계 등 200여 품종, 9천여 본의 무궁화가 심어져 있어.
무궁화가 이렇게 다양한 꽃인 줄 처음 알았어.
1. Rose of Sharon Exhibition Hall
This is the highlight. There are over 200 varieties of roses of Sharon, including Hongdansimgye, Baekdansimgye, and Asadalgye, and over 9,000 roses of Sharon planted. I never knew that roses of Sharon were such a diverse flower.
2. 테마정원 & 산책길
무궁화 외에도 약용식물원, 야생화원, 희귀특산식물원, 관목원 등 테마별 정원이 많아.
잔잔한 숲속 산책길이 연결돼 있어서 걷기 너무 좋더라.
자연 속에서 힐링하기 딱!
2. Theme gardens & walking trails
In addition to roses of Sharon, there are many themed gardens, such as a medicinal plant garden, wild flower garden, rare specialty plant garden, and shrub garden. The gentle forest walking trails are connected, so it was really nice to walk. Perfect for healing in nature!
3. 산림교육센터 (실내 전시관)
실내 전시관엔 무궁화의 역사, 문화, 생태 이야기가 체험형으로 전시돼 있어.
영상 자료도 있어서 아이들이나 가족 단위 관람에도 좋아.
잠시 더위 피하면서 쉬기에도 딱!
3. Forest Education Center (Indoor Exhibition Hall)
The indoor exhibition hall displays the history, culture, and ecology of the Rose of Sharon in an experiential manner. There are also video materials, so it is great for children and families to visit. It is also perfect for taking a break from the heat!
4. 목공체험장
아이부터 성인까지 목공 체험을 즐길 수 있는 공간이야.
무료 유아체험부터 독서대, 정리함 만들기 같은 일반 체험(2,000원)까지 다양해.
운영은 오전/오후 시간제로 예약 필수이고, 실내라 날씨 상관없이 가능해.
4. Woodworking Experience Center
This is a space where children and adults can enjoy woodworking experiences. There are various experiences, from free children's experiences to general experiences (2,000 won) such as making a reading stand and an organizer. Operation is by reservation only for morning/afternoon hours, and it is possible regardless of the weather because it is indoors.

나는 이렇게 돌아봤는데 딱 좋았어!
1. 입구에서 지도를 하나 챙기고
2. 무궁화전시원 → 야생화원 → 관목원 → 약용식물원 순으로 산책
3. 마지막에 실내 전시관(산림교육센터) 들어가서 쉬면서 구경
4. 쉼터나 벤치에서 물 마시며 힐링타임
산길처럼 험하지 않고 평지 위주라서 편하게 걸을 수 있어!
1. Get a map at the entrance
2. Walk in the order of Rose of Sharon Exhibition Hall → Wildflower Garden → Shrub Garden → Medicinal Plant Garden 3. Finally, go into the indoor exhibition hall (Forest Education Center) and take a rest and look around
4. Healing time while drinking water at a shelter or bench It's not as rough as a mountain path, and it's mostly flat, so you can walk comfortably!
📸 언제 가면 좋을까? When is a good time to go?
▪️ 7월 중순부터 8월 초까지는 무궁화가 만개하는 시기라 진짜 예뻐!
사진 찍기 좋은 스팟도 많고, SNS 업로드용 인증샷도 충분히 건질 수 있음.
▪️ 여름 햇살 아래에서도 그늘길이 많아서 산책이 덥지 않아서 좋았어.
▪️ It's really pretty because Rose of Sharon is in full bloom from mid-July to early August! There are many good spots to take pictures, and you can get plenty of certification shots to upload to SNS.
▪️ It was nice that the walk wasn't too hot because there were many shaded paths even under the summer sun.
