영월에 도착하자마자 들른 곳이 있어.
‘영월관광센터’, 요즘은 **‘와이스퀘어(Y-Square)’**라고도 불리는데
이게 그냥 안내센터 수준이 아니야.
청령포 바로 앞에 있고, 주차도 잘 되어 있어서
여행 시작 전에 들르기 딱 좋더라고.
Hey, my friend, I stopped by here as soon as I arrived in Yeongwol. 'Yeongwol Tourism Center', now also called **'Y-Square'** This isn't just an information center. It's right in front of Cheongnyeongpo, and there's plenty of parking, so it's a great place to stop by before you start your trip.

✔️ 1층 – 쉬었다 가는 공간 1st floor - a place to rest and relax
1층은 좀 넓은 휴게 공간 느낌인데,
푸드코트랑 로컬푸드 매장이 있어서 간단히 끼니도 해결 가능해.
마을에서 난 농산물 같은 것도 팔아서 구경하는 재미도 있고!
무엇보다 내부가 깔끔하고 시원해서
여행 중에 쉬었다 가기 딱 좋았어.
The 1st floor feels like a spacious rest area, but there's a food court and a local food store, so you can grab a quick bite. They also sell agricultural products from the village, so it's fun to look around! Above all, the interior was neat and cool, so it was perfect for taking a break during the trip.

여기가 진짜 알찼어!
미디어 전시관, 민화 테마관, 미디어체험존이 있는데,
그립톡 만들기, 꽃차 체험 같은 프로그램도 다양하게 있어.
‘민화’ 주제의 미디어아트도 굉장히 감각적이어서
아이들도, 어른들도 다 재미있어하더라.
This place is really full! There is a media exhibition hall, folk painting theme hall, and media experience zone, and there are various programs such as making grip toks and experiencing flower tea. The media art with the theme of ‘folk painting’ is also very sensational, so both children and adults had fun.

이 카페 분위기 진짜 좋아.
바깥으로 나가면 별빛터널이랑 소나무 정원이 있는데,
저녁되면 조명이 켜지면서 야경 스팟으로도 좋더라고.
데이트 장소로도 추천할 만해
This cafe has a really nice atmosphere. When you go outside, there is a starlight tunnel and a pine tree garden, and in the evening, the lights come on and it is a good night view spot. It is also recommended as a date spot.
🌿 체험 프로그램과 볼거리 Experience programs and things to see
친구야, 여긴 체험이 진짜 다양해.
그립톡 만들기, 무드등 제작 같은 소소한 공예 체험도 있고,
계절별로 민화 그리기, 영상 감상 프로그램도 있어.
아이랑 여행 온 가족들이 많이 오던데
나도 체험 하나 해봤더니 꽤 재밌더라 ㅎㅎ
그리고 곳곳에 전시된 작품들이
‘강원 폐광지역’과 관련된 이야기나 문화유산도 담고 있어서
단순한 놀이터 느낌은 아니었어.
Friend, there are really various experiences here. There are small craft experiences such as making grip toks and making mood lights, and there are also folk painting drawing and video viewing programs depending on the season. There were a lot of families traveling with children. I tried one too and it was pretty fun. ㅎㅎ And the works displayed here and there contain stories and cultural heritage related to the ‘Gangwon closed mine area’, so it didn’t feel like a simple playground.

You can walk to Cheongnyeongpo from here. You can get around without a car, so you don’t have to worry about parking in the city! You can also get travel course information at this center, such as Untango 1330, Byeolmaro Astronomical Observatory, and Donggang Photo Museum, so if it’s your first time to Yeongwol, I definitely recommend stopping by here first.
