친구야! 오늘 저녁에 진짜 근사한 곳을 발견해서 너한테 꼭 알려주고 싶었어. 구리에 있는 '가드니아제빵소'라는 곳인데, 정말 놀라운 발견이었어!
Hey, dude! I found a really great place tonight and I really wanted to tell you about it. It’s called ‘Gardenia Bakery’ in Guri, and it was such an amazing discovery!
저녁 식사 마치고 디저트가 당기는데, 지인에 전에 가본곳이라고 해서 갔지. 알고 보니까 이곳이 제과제빵명인 심명구 대표님이 운영하시는 곳이더라고. 명인이 운영한다고 하니까 기대가 됐는데, 정말 그 기대를 저버리지 않았어!
After dinner, I wanted dessert, so I went there because my friend told me he had been there before. I found out that this place is run by the master baker, Sim Myeong-gu. I was excited because he said it was run by a master, and it really lived up to my expectations!
매장에 들어서는 순간 빵 향기에 반했다고 해야 할까? 늦은 시간이었는데도 진열대에 정말 다양한 종류의 빵들이 가득했어. 하나하나가 너무 예쁘고 먹음직스러워서 고르는 재미가 있었지. 장인정신이 느껴지는 빵들은 보기만 해도 군침이 돌더라.
Should I say that I fell in love with the smell of bread the moment I entered the store? Even though it was late, the shelves were filled with so many different kinds of bread. Each one was so pretty and delicious that it was fun to choose. Just looking at the breads that showed the spirit of craftsmanship made my mouth water.
특히 매장 규모가 엄청 커서 놀랐어. 보통 빵집은 그냥 빵 사고 나오는 곳이 많잖아? 근데 여기는 달랐어. 카페 공간이 넓직하게 있어서 편하게 앉아서 빵도 먹고 차도 마실 수 있더라고. 인테리어도 세련되게 잘 해놔서 분위기가 너무 좋았어.
I was especially surprised by the size of the store. Usually, bakeries are places where you just buy bread and leave, right? But this place was different. The cafe space was spacious, so you could sit comfortably, eat bread, and drink tea. The interior was also stylishly decorated, so the atmosphere was really nice.
나는 갓 구운 빵 몇 가지랑 아메리카노를 주문했는데, 이게 또 완벽한 조합이었어. 커피 향과 빵 향이 어우러져서 정말 행복한 시간을 보냈지. 특히 늦은 시간이라 손님도 많지 않아서 조용하고 여유롭게 즐길 수 있었어.
I ordered some freshly baked bread and an Americano, which was a perfect combination. The aroma of coffee and bread blended together and made for a really happy time. Especially since it was late, there weren't many customers, so I was able to enjoy it quietly and leisurely.
자리가 많다 보니까 테이블마다 분위기도 달랐어. 창가 자리는 밤 거리를 내다보면서 앉을 수 있고, 안쪽은 또 아늑한 느낌이더라고. 덕분에 사진도 예쁘게 많이 찍었어! 너도 알잖아, 내가 카페 사진 찍는 거 좋아하는 거. 여기는 어디서 찍어도 화보가 되는 것 같았어.
Since there were many seats, each table had a different atmosphere. The window seats allowed you to sit while looking out at the night street, and the inside felt cozy. Thanks to that, I was able to take a lot of pretty pictures! You know, I like taking pictures of cafes. It seemed like no matter where I took pictures here, it would look like a pictorial.
주차 걱정도 전혀 없어. 별도의 주차장이 마련되어 있어서 편하게 주차하고 천천히 즐기다 올 수 있었지. 요즘 카페 갈 때마다 주차 때문에 스트레스 받았는데, 여기는 그런 걱정 없이 편하게 즐길 수 있어서 좋더라.
I didn't have to worry about parking at all. There was a separate parking lot, so I could park comfortably and enjoy my time here. I've been stressed out about parking every time I've been to a cafe lately, but I liked that I could enjoy it here without worrying about that.
다음에 우리 꼭 같이 가자! 넌 디저트 좋아하잖아. 게다가 요즘 카페 투어하면서 사진 찍는 거 재미들렸다며? 여기 와서 예쁜 사진도 많이 찍고, 맛있는 빵도 실컷 먹자. 아침 일찍 가면 더 다양한 빵들도 구경할 수 있을 것 같아.

명인이 운영하는 곳이라 그런지 빵 하나하나에 정성이 느껴져. 대량 생산하는 프랜차이즈 빵집이랑은 확실히 달랐어. 특히 너처럼 베이커리 맛집 찾아다니는 사람한테는 정말 좋은 발견일 것 같아!
Since it's run by a master, you can feel the sincerity put into each and every piece of bread. It's definitely different from mass-produced franchise bakeries. Especially for someone like you who's always looking for great bakeries, I think this would be a great discovery!
