솔직히 말하면… 이번 가을 단풍은 백양사가 완성판이었다.
사진으로만 보다가 직접 보니까 왜 사람들이 ‘단풍 성지’라고 부르는지 알겠더라.
너한테 바로 말하고 싶어서 집 오자마자 후다닥~.
To be honest... Baekyangsa Temple was the epitome of fall foliage this year. I'd only seen it in photos, but seeing it in person made me understand why people call it a "maple mecca." I wanted to tell you right away, so I rushed over as soon as I got home.
📍 위치 & 접근성
- 전남 장성군 북하면 백양로 1239
- 장성IC에서 멀지 않아 생각보다 접근 쉬움
- 단풍 시즌에는 차량 많아서 주차장 진입 전부터 속도 정체 있음
- 특히 절 가까워질수록 도보 이동 사람들 많아서 천천히 이동해야 함
꿀팁: 오전 일찍 가면 주차 스트레스 훨씬 덜함.
📍 Location & Accessibility
1239 Baekyang-ro, Buk-myeon, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do It's not far from the Jangseong IC, so it's easier to access than you might think. During fall foliage season, there's a lot of traffic, so there's traffic congestion even before you enter the parking lot. Especially as you get closer to the temple, there are a lot of people walking, so you have to drive slowly. Tip: Go early in the morning to avoid parking stress.
🍁 현장 분위기 — 단풍 ‘절정’이 이런 거구나
도착하자마자 색감이 그냥… 말이 안 돼.
- 붉은색, 주황색, 노란색이 계곡 따라 층층이 쌓여 있고
- 바람 불 때마다 낙엽이 우수수 떨어져서
그냥 한 폭의 국립공원 포스터 속으로 들어간 느낌 - 사람도 정말 많았는데, 그만큼 사진 명소가 많아서 다들 행복하게 셔터 누르는 분위기
특히 쌍계루 아래 연못 반영은 인정.
여기가 완전 핫플.
거울처럼 비치는 단풍이 너무 예뻐서 나도 잠깐 멍 때리고 있었음.
🍁 Atmosphere — This is what the "peak" fall foliage looks like.
Upon arrival, the colors were just... incredible. Reds, oranges, and yellows were layered along the valley, and every time the wind blew, leaves would fall, it felt like I'd stepped into a national park poster. There were a ton of people, but there were so many photogenic spots that everyone was happily snapping their photos. The reflection in the pond below Ssanggyeru Pavilion is especially appreciated. This is a total hot spot. The mirror-like fall foliage was so beautiful that I found myself dazed for a moment.

걷기 난이도는 거의 산책 수준.
부모님 모시고 와도 전혀 힘들지 않을 정도.

I did this: Baekyangsa Temple Entrance → Maple Tree Trail → Ssanggyeru Reflection Spot → Tour around the temple The walking difficulty is almost like a stroll. Even if you bring your parents, it won't be difficult at all.

백양사 근처 밥집들 단풍철엔 줄 서는 곳 많음.
지역 특산물로는 백양사 도토리묵, 산채정식이 제일 인기.
많은 사람들이 내려오면서 식사를 하고 있었음

During fall foliage season, there are long lines at restaurants near Baekyangsa Temple. The most popular local specialties are Baekyangsa Acorn Jelly and Wild Vegetable Set Meal. Lots of people were enjoying their meal on the way down.
