친구야! 올해 1월1일 선상크루즈를 타고 여수앞바다에 나가 해맞이를 했었지.그때 바닷가에 있는 용월사에서도 해맞이를 하는 걸보고 언젠가 가볼려했지. 그래서 이번에 여수여행코스에 넣어서 아침 해돋이를 볼려 일찍 서둘렀는데 구름이 껴서 해를 제대로 볼수 없어 아쉬웠지!

Hey, my friend! On January 1st of this year, I went out to the sea in front of Yeosu on a cruise ship and watched the sunrise. At that time, I saw the sunrise at Yongwolsa Temple on the beach and wanted to go there someday. So this time, I included it in my Yeosu travel itinerary and hurried to see the sunrise in the morning, but it was too bad that I couldn’t see the sun properly because of the clouds!

 

📍 여수 깊은 산중에 숨은 ‘기운 좋은 절’ A ‘temple with good energy’ hidden deep in the mountains of Yeosu

전남 여수시 돌산읍 죽포리에 위치한 용월사(龍月寺)는 일반적인 관광코스에는 잘 안 나오는 숨겨진 명소야.

Yongwolsa Temple (龍月寺), located in Jukpo-ri, Dolsan-eup, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, is a hidden attraction that doesn’t usually appear on general tourist courses.

 

하지만 알고 보면, 여수 사람들 사이에서도 “기운 받으러 가는 절”, “소원 비는 절”로 꽤나 소문난 곳이지.

However, if you look into it, it is quite famous among the people of Yeosu as a “temple to go to receive energy” and a “temple to make wishes.”

이 절이 자리한 자리는 ‘용이 승천하고, 달이 머물다 간 터’라 전해져.

 

옛 이야기에 따르면, 이곳은 신령한 용이 밤마다 달빛을 머금고 승천하던 곳이라고 해.
그래서 이름도 ‘용(月)과 달(月)’이 만나는 절 — 용월사!

It is said that the place where this temple is located is ‘the place where a dragon ascended to heaven and the moon stayed.’ According to an old story, this is the place where a divine dragon ascended to heaven every night, bathed in moonlight. That’s why the name of the temple is ‘Yong (月) and Dal (月)’ — Yongwolsa!

 

“용이 깃든 산, 달빛이 고요히 내려앉는 곳… 그래서인지 마음이 참 편안해져요.”
“A mountain where a dragon dwells, a place where moonlight quietly descends… That’s why my heart feels so at ease.”

이런 말이 절 찾는 사람들 입에서 나올 정도로,
이곳은 말로 다 설명할 수 없는 기운이 느껴지는 장소야.

This is a place where you can feel an energy that cannot be fully described in words, to the extent that people who visit the temple say these words.

 

🛤️ 어떻게 가야 할까? How do I get there?

용월사는 돌산대교를 지나 돌산공원 방향으로 쭉 가다가 죽포리 방향으로 진입하면 돼.
차로는 약 여수시청 기준 30~40분 정도 소요, 대중교통은 좀 불편한 편이야.
주차는 절 입구 쪽에 간단히 할 수 있고, 조용히 다녀오기 좋아.

네비에는 ‘용월사(龍月寺)’ 또는 ‘돌산 용월사’라고 검색하면 정확히 떠.

Yongwolsa is a place where you can pass Dolsandaegyo Bridge and go straight toward Dolsan Park, then enter Jukpo-ri. It takes about 30-40 minutes by car from Yeosu City Hall, and public transportation is a bit inconvenient. Parking is easy at the temple entrance, and it’s nice to visit quietly. If you search for ‘Yongwolsa (龍月寺)’ or ‘Dolsan Yongwolsa’ on your navigation, it will come up correctly.

 

🧘 이 절, 그냥 절이 아니야 This temple is not just any temple

용월사는 규모가 큰 절은 아니지만, 그 안에 담긴 기운은 절대 작지 않아.
무엇보다도 아래와 같은 이유로 찾는 이들이 많아:

Yongwolsa is not a large temple, but the energy contained within is by no means small. Above all, many people come here for the following reasons:

 

● 소원 기도: 특히 마음의 평화, 가족 건강, 진로 문제에 대해 기도하러 오는 사람들이 많아.

● Prayer prayer: Many people come here to pray for peace of mind, family health, and career issues.

 

● 기도방 운영: 일반인도 머물 수 있는 기도방이 있고, 며칠간 머물며 조용히 마음을 다스리는 사람들도 있어.

● Prayer room operation: There is a prayer room where the general public can stay, and there are also people who stay for a few days to quietly calm their minds.

 

● 불상과 탑의 배치도 아주 묘하게 조화롭고, 뭔가 ‘움직임이 멈춘 시간’ 같은 느낌이 나.

특히 달 뜨는 날, 또는 음력 보름날에 다녀온 사람들 중엔
“이상하게 소원이 이루어졌다”는 이야기를 남기는 경우도 있다고… 진짜야.
